What Does a Motion Graphics Designer Do?
A motion graphics designer makes graphic elements move. Text, logos, icons, charts and illustrations come alive to tell a short story: why a product is useful, what an app does, or what a sale offer is. Most of the work lasts 6 to 60 seconds and ends up on Instagram, YouTube, TV screens in shops or inside presentations.

What Does a Motion Designer's Workday Look Like?
Say you work at a Delhi agency and get a 20-second Diwali offer Reel for a jewellery brand. A normal flow looks like this:

What Is in a Motion Graphics Designer Job Description?
- Responsibilities: create animated videos, Reels, logo animations and social ads from briefs; edit and sync footage; prepare files for each platform.

Does a Motion Graphics Designer Need 3D Software?

AI and Agentic AI in Motion Graphics Work
Adobe has added an AI assistant to Premiere (public beta) and After Effects (private beta) that can carry out several steps from one request[2]. Motion designers also use AI image tools for backgrounds and 3D-looking objects, AI voice tools for rough voice-overs and ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for scripts and storyboard ideas.
