What Is an AI Graphic Design Course?
It is a graphic design course where AI tools are part of daily practice. You still learn what every designer learns: how to place text so it reads, how to pick colours that print well, how to build a logo that works small and large. On top of that, you learn where AI saves time and where it causes mistakes.
The word "AI" is now on many course names. Some are full design courses with AI added. Some are short prompt classes that teach you to type into an image generator. The second kind will not get you a design job, because studios and brands still need editable files, brand rules and print-ready output. Our guide to graphic design with AI shows how working designers mix the two.
What Should an AI Graphic Design Course Syllabus Cover?
Look for a syllabus in this order. Basics first, software next, AI woven through, a portfolio at the end.
| Stage | What you learn | Where AI fits |
|---|---|---|
| Design basics | Layout, grids, typography, colour, visual hierarchy | Use ChatGPT or Gemini to list ideas for a brief, then sketch your own |
| Photoshop | Layers, masks, retouching, compositing, social posts | Generative Fill and Generative Expand to clean or widen photos |
| Illustrator | Logos, icons, vector artwork, print files | Text-to-vector drafts, then redraw and refine by hand |
| InDesign | Brochures, menus, multi-page layouts, preflight | AI assistant for repeat brand updates and print checks |
| Canva and Affinity | Fast social and team templates | Canva AI for quick resizes and copy drafts |
| Portfolio | Real briefs: brand set, campaign, packaging, print | Show what AI did and what you changed |
If a course starts with image generators and never teaches Illustrator or InDesign, walk away. Clients ask for an AI file, a PDF with bleed or a layered PSD, not a screenshot of a prompt.

AI and Agentic AI in Graphic Design Work Today
Agentic AI means an assistant that can carry out several steps for you from one request, such as "resize this poster for Instagram, a story and a flex banner". Adobe's AI assistant (public beta) in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign works this way[1]. Canva AI 2.0 can create and edit designs from a chat-style request[2]. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini help with headlines, mood words and client briefs.
Here is what the human still decides. Is the idea right for this client? Is the logo legible at 1 cm? Did the AI change a product label, a face or a price? Are the colours CMYK for print? These checks are what employers pay a designer for. CABA's courses now teach AI and agentic AI workflows inside the curriculum. The trainer marks the final file, not the prompt.
What Do Delhi Employers Ask From AI-Ready Designers?
On 16 October 2026 Internshala listed 57 fresher graphic design jobs in Delhi[3]. Three that mention AI, in our own words (company names left out):
- Graphic designer, Delhi. Product design, product mockups and AI-assisted product visuals. Skills listed: Photoshop, Illustrator, ChatGPT and Gemini. Pay shown: ₹2.4 to 3 lakh a year.
- Visual artist (associate), Gurgaon. Build original visual ideas from briefs and stories. Skills listed: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Figma, Procreate and MidJourney. Pay shown: ₹4.5 to 5 lakh a year.
- Brand design intern, Noida. Branding work using Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW and AI image generation. Stipend shown: ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 a month, with a job offer of up to ₹5 lakh a year after the internship.
Notice the pattern. Every post lists the core Adobe tools first. AI is an extra skill on top, never a replacement. That is exactly how a sound AI graphic design course should be built.
How Much Do Graphic Designers With AI Skills Earn?
| Stage | Typical monthly salary (Delhi NCR) |
|---|---|
| Fresher (first job) | ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 |
| After 1 year | ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 |
| After 3 years | ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 |
These figures come from our own students' placements. AI skills help you get shortlisted and work faster, but pay rises come from a strong portfolio and from adding skills. 7 Checks Before You Join an AI Graphic Design Course
- 1See the full syllabus
Month by month. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign must be there, with AI inside each module.
- 2Ask how AI work is marked
Good trainers grade the final file and ask what you changed after the AI draft.
- 3Look at student portfolios
Real brand sets, packaging and print work. Not only AI posters.
- 4Check trainer time
How many minutes a day does a trainer sit at your screen? Group classes can leave you stuck on settings.
- 5Ask about real briefs
Will you design for real or realistic clients with feedback rounds?
- 6Ask about placement
Which roles did last year's students get? Is there a written job guarantee?
- 7Check online or classroom
Both work if you get live feedback. See our guide to a graphic design course online.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is taught in an AI graphic design course?
Design basics (layout, type, colour, branding), Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, plus AI tools like Generative Fill, Adobe's AI assistant, Canva AI and ChatGPT for ideas and drafts. A good course grades the final edited file, not the prompt.
Can I learn graphic design only with AI tools?
No. AI tools make drafts, but clients need editable logos, print-ready PDFs and layered files. You need Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills to deliver them and to fix what AI gets wrong.
Is an AI graphic design course available online?
Yes. Live online classes work well if a trainer reviews your screen and files. Recorded-only courses rarely give the feedback you need to build a job-ready portfolio.
Do employers in Delhi want AI skills in graphic designers?
Yes. Fresher job posts seen on 16 October 2026 listed ChatGPT, Gemini, MidJourney and AI image generation next to Photoshop and Illustrator. The Adobe tools are still listed first.
Does CABA Innovatives teach AI in its graphic design course?
Yes. CABA's graphic design course teaches Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity by Canva, Canva Pro and AI tools, with AI and agentic AI workflows inside the curriculum.
